This painting, a silhouetta of a Friesian is virtually unmistakable, a noble head, long, gracefully arched neck, and feathering on the lower legs.  The mane and tail are always full and abundant.  Always black, occasionally with a small white star.  The place of origin, the area along the coast of the North Sea, present day Neitherlands to Denmark.

This painting is a wild Mustang, which are now located in the Western and North West part of the states.  This bread of horse isn't native to the states, but they are descendents from the horses the Spanish Conquistadors brought to the continent during the last 1700's and early 1800's.

The Mustands have made a place in USA history.  They became the transportation for a very powerful Light Calvary for the planes indians.  They also became transportation for the US Calvary in the West.  They also became the perfered transportation for all the cowboys, cattle and horse ranches in the West.  Many are still out there in the wild.
